- The Maynard Amerine award for service to the American Association of Wine Economists to Mellie Pullman of Portland State University
- The Christophe Baron award for outstanding research presented at the meeting of the AAWE to Robert Hodgson, Humboldt State University and Peter Roberts, Emory University
The Conference was held in Portland, OR, August 14-16, 2008 in conjunction with the Association of Food Economists..
At the 2008 Meetings of VDQS, the following prizes were awarded for papers
- The Banyuls-Collioure Award was awarded to Matteo Gallizzi and his co-authors for the following papers:
"Vines Portfolio Under Uncertainty and Irreversibility"; "Experts, Conformity and Peer Pressure in Food and Wine Tasting: An Experimental Analysis";
"An Identification Problem: Economists at a Wine-Tasting Experiment"; "For a Few Glasses More: An Inquiry Into the Determinants of Quality Awards to Italian Wines."
- The CIVR Award to Krista Duniach for the paper "How Young Consumers Perceive Wine: A French-American Comparison," and to Kim Bok-Rae for the paper "Korean Wine History."
- The Liquid Assets Prize to Pierre Combris and Erick Giraud-Heraud for all the work they have presented in all Oenometrics meetings, and in particular for the paper "Willingness
to Pay for Appellation of Origin: Results of an Experiment in France and Germany."
The 2008 Meetings took place in Collioure (France), on May 28-30.
At the 2007 Meetings of VDQS, the following prizes were awarded for papers:

- The Liquid Assets Prize was awarded to Michaël Visser (INRA–France) for "The impact of gurus: Parker grades and en primeur wine prices," with

At the 2003 Meetings of VDQS, three prizes were awarded for papers:
- The Vérone d'Oenométrie-Domini Veneti Prize was awarded to Carol Doucet (ENITA de Bordeaux and Université de Bordeaux IV) for a paper entitled "Espaces viticoles, espaces ruraux, espaces périphériques? Les dynamiques spatiales de l’économie viticole de Bordeaux"
and to Günter Schamel (Humboldt University, Berlin) for "A dynamic analysis of regional and producer reputation for California wine"
- The Liquid Assets Prize was awarded to O. A. Kym Anderson (University of Adelaide) for a paper (jointly with D. Wood) "What determines the future value of an icon wine? Evidence from Australia"
- The Vinum Hungarorum Prize was awarded to Simone Müller (University of Dresden) for the paper "The German wine law from an information economics point of view"
At the 2002 Meetings of VDQS, three prizes were awarded for papers:
- The Vérone d'Oenométrie-Domini Veneti Prize was awarded to Héla Hadj Ali for a paper entitled "Vente en primeur et investissement: une étude

- The Ville de Montpellier Prize was awarded to Florence Livat for a paper entitled "Vins de Bordeaux: où sont les marchés"
- The Liquid Assets Prize was awarded to Karl Storchman for a paper entitled "Asymetric information and markets in transition: vineyard auctions in the Mosel valley after the French Revolution"
